On Saturday July 26th, 2008,  the Royal Botanical Gardens in Burlington will present Sculpt Art; an amazing exhibition and sale of Canadian outdoor sculpture. Curated by Abbozzo Gallery, the exhibition will feature more than 200 works of art from such artists as Don Ian Dickson, Mary Ellen Farrow, David Hind, Laura Hollick, Josef Petriska and Jean Pierre Schoss. Set in the beautiful surroundings of Hendrie Gardens, the event unites the two worlds of art and nature and invites both the patrons of the RBG and lovers of art to enter and appreciate both worlds.

Curator Ineke Zigrossi states “Through the remarkable vision of the RBG, we are able to present these unique works of Canadian sculpture to the public in the most beautiful surroundings imaginable. We see this as an opportunity to bring together patrons of the RBG and art lovers in a shared appreciation of Canadian art in a new and wonderful synergy. We invite you to enter the gardens, view the work of these notable artists, to contemplate and allow the sculpture to speak to you.”

Sculpt Art is part of an ongoing program of art related events at the RBG
this summer. Collectively titled, Art in Paradise, the program encompasses the individual exhibitions: Earth Art, Sound Art and Sculpt Art. We are excited about this ongoing partnership with the RBG and the chance to promote the sale of sculpture by Canadian artists.
