Barbara Amos is a multidisciplinary artist living and working out of Calgary, Alberta and has been a rostered artist with Abbozzo Gallery for over a decade.
Barbara Amos is a visual artist who has been involved with regional, national and international art projects such as The Red Alert Project in southern Alberta, "The Scope of Change" in the International Sculpture Garden in Burlington Ontario, the Reactions Exhibition curated by the Exit Art Gallery in New York and circulated through out the USA.
Themes of social and environmental justice are present in much of her work. Barbara maintains a studio practise as a place for balance and sanctuary. Her day often begins with a walk and a drawing.
Over the years, her sketchbook has been replaced with temporal drawing. Nature is her page. She draws her line with survey tape or yarn and documents it with a photograph. This whimsical, meditative connection to the natural world allows her to move from this place of contemplation into creating her drawings and paintings.
