Overview

"I would be totally lost if I could not paint. It is my passion and it keeps me connected to the world and nature around me"

D. A. Dunford's latest exhibition tackles the stunning scenery of the Muskoka Lakes region in Southern Ontario, with the intention of capturing as much detail and beauty as he possibly can. Dunford's mastery of hyper-realism brings Muskoka to life like never before. He contemplates the region and reproduces his vision on the canvas, replicating the views of Muskoka during different times of the day and seasons, offering fresh perspectives on an area many Ontarians would consider familiar. Dunford's latest exhibition is original in the way he approaches the subject matter, but simultaneously recognizable due to the elements he has repeatedly used over the years, such as deck chairs, pool floaters, boats, canoes and campfires. The addition of Dunford's Impressionism Series to this exhibition is unique as the artist has yet to exhibit this style of work in his over 40-year career, previously reserving the paintings for intimate gifts for family and friends,Muskoska is truly a tour de force of Dunford's versatility and skill.
