HOW DID YOU GET INVOLVED IN THE PUNK SCENE, WHAT YEAR? I was drawn into Punk just after my grade 12 high school year of 1979, when Brian, Murray and other friends all picked up on it. BEST PUNK MEMORY? Most of my memories include alcohol and drugs, and resulted in hangovers. Best show was the Dayglos and NoMeansNo at the junction house, and the most crazy party was the show in James Bay where Wally the explosives expert had the Dayglos playing and a rocker chick was having a Jock party at a house next door. They were not fans of the music and through bottles through the windows. Most of them got carted off by the riot squad that showed up. HAS PUNK CHANGED MUCH SINCE THE 80'S? , IF SO HOW? To me, the overall Punk scene has been diluted and is more homogenized. The original bands are being copied, as happens to all fresh musical movements. It is now deemed to be "Classic Rock", and shows up in commercials. I always equated Punk with being a non conformist, but it had got to the point where you need to conform to a certain look to be called a "Punk". IS PUNK HERE TO STAY? In it's basic raw form, I think the essence of the Punk Ethos will always be around. The corporate world is having less and less to say in how music is presented to the world, and that DIY endeavour is how I see Punk surviving.
