    Jake Santos (b. 2004) is a Toronto-based artist whose airbrush paintings investigate the architecture of the image and its relationship to memory, desire, and the sublime. Drawing from a wide array of digital media and photographic references, his compositions hover between clarity and erasure—figures turned away, edges softened, narratives suspended. Currently completing his BFA in Drawing & Painting at OCAD University, Santos’ work embodies the poetic evasion and emotional distance of contemporary visual culture.

     

    Presented at the 18th edition of SWAB Barcelona, Santos' work offers a timely reflection on how images shape longing, dislocation, and spiritual resonance in an era of fragmentation and mediated intimacy.
