    Jake Santos (b. 2004)  is an emerging Toronto-based artist whose airbrush paintings investigate the architecture of images in relation to spiritual sensation; exploring themes of desire, memory and the sublime. 

    Drawing from digital media and photographic references, Santos’ no-contact air brush techique results in compositions that obscure recognition – figures turn away, edges dissolve, and narrative lingers in suspense.

    Santos’ work confronts the emotional distance inherent in contemporary visual culture, offering a compelling reflection on how image culture shapes longing, dislocation and spiritual resonance in a visually saturatued world.

    Currently completing his BFA in Drawing & Painting at OCAD University, Santos makes his international debut at the 18th edition of SWAB Barcelona
