The Garbage and the Flowers
John Vitale | Feature Gallery Exhibition 4 Apr - 3 May 2025 'The Garbage and the Flowers' brings together a new series of abstract paintings by John Vitale that explore the relationship between beauty and decay. Vitale’s practice is largely distinguished by a search for beauty and balance in the chaos and struggle of the unrefined human experience; the decay has a way of transmuting itself into a bloom. His paintings build on discarded moments—mistakes, imperfections, and overlooked details—transforming them into spaces of balance and possibility. Guided by an intuitive process, he searches for what is buoyant and hopeful within the rough and unrefined, allowing each piece to unfold as a reflection of resilience and quiet optimism. Read more -
Crossfade
Kelly Grace | Main Gallery Exhibition 4 Apr - 3 May 2025 Exploring the space between reality and imagination, Crossfade blurrs the transition between the everyday and the cinematic. Garden of Hope
Vladimir Kanic | Main Gallery Exhibition 28 Feb - 29 Mar 2025 We are thrilled to welcome Vladimir Kanic back to Abbozzo Gallery for his first solo Main Gallery exhibition, Garden of Hope. A trans-disciplinary artist exhibiting with Abbozzo since 2021, Kanic is known for his living algae sculptures, which transform spectators’ breath into oxygen, redefining the gallery as a living ecosystem – where art is not just observed but experienced as an act of care.
Now expanding his practice, Garden of Hope introduces futuristic textiles, film projections and print-based works, re-imagining breathing not only as a biological function but as a site of deep ecological entanglement – where every breath connects us to the fragile, resilient networks of life. Blending his signature living installations with explorations of memory, displacement, and resilience, Kanic offers a vision where healing is not just personal but planetary, and where survival is not about returning to what was, but about imagining what can be built anew – a radical hope.
